Dracula 2000

A gang of criminals raids Van Helsing's antique shop, which is brimming with valuables. The crooks locate the shop's vault and gain entry.

A metal Coffin is discovered in the vault. They try to unlock it, believing it will contain valuable items. Unfortunately, the casket has been booby-trapped, they quickly realize.

They take the casket, unknowing of the danger within because they can't open it and believe it must be protecting something valuable.

Dracula 2000 has a good cast, decent acting, and the movie has a friendly atmosphere and feeling. In addition, some of the effects are good.

Dracula 2000 The Dracula

There is some blood and gore, which is used nicely. However, they haven't gone silly and overused the special effects.

Gerard Butler does an excellent job of playing Dracula as a monster with great power and a charismatic likable character.

Apart from Simons' (Jonny Lee Miller) accent, which seemed a little forced, the rest of the cast members do an excellent job.

In addition, Dracula 2000 offers its own reasonably exciting story behind the creation of Dracula, something that becomes known near the end of the film.

While I did enjoy this movie, I didn't find the story fascinating. Furthermore, I didn't find myself caring particularly about any of the characters.

Instead, I was easily distracted, which is not ideal for a masterpiece movie.

I can recommend this to any vampire fans, as it gives us a healthy dose of vampire action.

However, those that are not vampire fans may struggle to enjoy this as I am not sure there is enough to keep attention.

Review:

In this unsettling thriller called Dracula 2000, the Count rises once more. Van Helsing, an antique trader with a hidden vault, is played by Christopher Plummer. They discover Dracula (Gerard Butler) preparing for some deadly action inside a coffin when thieves break-in.

Sean Patrick Thomas, Jonny Lee Miller, Justine Waddell, Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Esposito, Danny Masterson, Jeri Ryan, Lochlyn Munro.

In this glossy surprise, many classic vampire legends get minced and crammed into a new shell, but it's still the same old blood pudding in the end.

Dracula 2000 Shirtless Dracula

The crisis begins when robbers steal into Matthew Van Helsing's bizarrely adorned vault (Christopher Plummer).

Instead of gold and diamonds, they find an elegant coffin, and it doesn't take long for one of them to force open the lid and become the revived Dracula's first victim (Gerard Butler).

It turns out that Van Helsing is not a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, who fought Dracula in 19th-century London, as he claims.

Instead, Abraham Van Helsing is the vampire's self-appointed protector.

He's been injecting himself with Dracula's contaminated blood to kill the original vampire one day.

However, Van Helsing had a daughter named Mary (Justine Waddell), born with a trace of Dracula's blood in her veins.

Dracula 2000 Woman

Mary lives in New Orleans, estranged from her father and overprotected by her late, fanatically devout mother.

Having drained the dopes who released him, Dracula is now on his way to take her, confirming her repeated nightmares of a demon lover.

Editor-turned-director Patrick Lussier manages to bury most of them under shots of Mardi Gras mobs, Dracula swanning around like a Prada model — though, to be fair, Butler has the soothingly dangerous sex appeal to pull it off — and shameless visual plugs for Virgin Megastores.

Co-screenwriter Joel Soisson is an old hand at spooky stuff. Some interesting ideas are kicking around in his script, but editor-turned.

Dracula's brides are a sight to behold, with Jeri Ryan, Jennifer Esposito, and Colleen Fitzpatrick donning slinky, décolletage-baring gowns and contact lenses that make their irises appear to be flowing blood.

Butler is an identikit of previous stabs at the character.

Still, he comes off as more or less absurd as he slips around the New Orleans Virgin Megastore. he was making all-female heads turn as if he were acting in a body lotion commercial and cooing his approbation of a Death Metal video.

The first 21st century Dracula, prefaced by a "Wes Craven Presents" logo, means nothing more here than it did on Wishmaster.

But, at least tries to develop a new backstory for the Count - this time a mix of biblical and Christian legend characters who has been stalking the earth in despair since the Crucifixion.

Dracula 2000 Scared Man

The writing offers some exciting concepts. Plummer's performance is excellent. Enough to make you wish this wasn't a yoof-oriented picture that feels compelled to let a top-of-his-voice Miller carry the heroism into the end.

On the other hand, if Butler can't handle Miller in a fight, he'll have no chance against a prominent actor. As a result, delegating the staking and biting to the children may be a wise option.

It's not all doom and gloom; Jennifer Esposito and Fitzpatrick provide some decent fang Fatale writhing.

And the build-up is convincing when Dracula appears on stage, though the product placements and complaints begin.

I hope you enjoyed my review of Dracula 2000.
